I remember my childhood days when my GrandDad gets Brussel sprouts from his summer vacation in Ooty and my mom used to make sambar with it, which surprisingly taste good too 🙂

Brussel Sprouts Stir Fry
Experience the delightful simplicity of Indian-style Brussels sprouts dry curry. Sautéed with cumin, turmeric, and green chilies, these tender sprouts make a flavorful and healthy side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Brussel Sprouts
- 6 Green chillies cut lengthwise in halves
- 3 Garlic finely grated
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
Instructions
- Rinse and dry brussel sprouts. Trim the extra stem and cut them in halves.
- Place the Brussel sprouts in a microwaveable bowl and sprinkle some water over it. Microwave the bowl for 3 minutes and keep it aside.
- Heat oil, add jeera and let it crackle.
- Add the curry leaves & then the grated garlic to the oil along with jeera, saute for a few seconds.
- Then add the cut green chillies, turmeric powder and fry for a minute.
- Add Brussel sprouts and salt and mix them well.
- Keep the flame in medium and cover it with a lid so the sprouts get cooked. After 3 mins, open the lid and keep sautéing till the sprouts get browned and crunchy.
Tips
- Don’t keep it covered with the lid for a longer time, or else the Brussel sprouts will become soft and mushy.
- Brussels sprouts boast high levels of many nutrients, rich in antioxidants and high in fiber.
- Charred Brussel sprouts give a great taste when cooked in an iron skillet.
