Ingredients

  • 8 slices White Bread cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts chopped or crushed
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Ghee or butter (melter)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350o F
  • Spread the bread pieces on a pie pan. Drizzle ghee over it and add walnuts to it and mix gently.
  • Whisk eggs in a bowl. Mix the remaining ingredients – heavy cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, ground cinnamon to the eggs and pour this mixture over the bread pieces. Mix gently and soak for a minute.
  • Bake in the oven for 45 minutes till the top part turns nice and brown.
  • Serve hot with a dollop or two of Vanilla ice cream (or Vanilla sauce) while watching your favorite movie.

Tips

  • Mix up the bread – part grainy, part white, maybe even a croissant.
  • If you are a chocolatey person like me, add half handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Replace white bread with Brioche for a richer taste.
