Servings 8 medium sized paratas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Wheat flour
  • 10 Red radishes Grate it finely along with the skin.
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • ¾ tsp Cumin powder
  • ½ tsp Amchur (Dry mango) powder
  • 1 tsp Ajwain (Carom seeds) Crush between palms and add for enhanced flavor.
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Mint leaves
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 Green chillies (optional) finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp yogurt
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp oil

Instructions

  • Now, let's cook!!
  • Mix all the dry ingredients first and then add yogurt and grated radish. You don't need to squeeze the water from radish.
  • Mix everything together along with oil. Add a little water if needed and make it into a soft dough. I keep it in the fridge for half hour so the dough is not too sticky. It's totally optional.
  • Make small balls out of the dough.
  • Roll them out (neither too thick nor too thin) using a rolling pin. Dust a little flour if the dough is sticky.
  • Transfer it to a hot tawa and cook on both sides drizzling some oil or ghee each side, until golden brown spots appears.
  • Remove it from heat once done. I served it with dhal and Crispy and flavorful brussel sprouts. Enjoy flavorful, nutritious parathas hassle-free!

Tips

  • The parata turns out very soft when you add yogurt to the wheat flour while making the dough.
  • If you don't prefer to keep the dough in the fridge, make the paratas as soon as you make the dough or else it will leave water and become sticky, which makes it difficult to roll.
  • You can use any radish for this recipe. If you are using the white ones, peel the skin and then grate it.
  • This can be great for lunch boxes along with some Potato fry or spread some pickle and make as parata rolls.
