Masala Chicken Drumsticks

This recipe is one of our favorites when it comes to dry chicken. Chicken Drumsticks gives me great memories of my childhood when we fish out for the ‘leg piece’ as we call it, back home 🙂 There is an explosion of flavor in this masala which you don’t want to miss.

Servings 6 drumsticks

Ingredients

  • 6 Chicken drumsticks skinless
  • 4 cloves Garlic grated (gives a great flavor when grated)
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • ½ tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Lime juice
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Instructions

  • Make slits on the chicken drumsticks so the marinade really gets into the chicken evenly. Pour the lime juice and salt and rub it over the drumsticks and mix it well using your hands. Let it sit for 10 mins.
  • Meanwhile prepare the marinade by mixing together the rest of the ingredients (garlic, kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder, paprika, cumin powder, garam masala, greek yogurt and oil).
  • Spread the prepared marinade on the chicken drumsticks and let it marinate for a minimum of 2 hours. Tastes best when marinated overnight.
  • Preheat your oven or airfryer to 400℉. Bake/Air fry for 18 to 20 mins or until completely cooked and nicely browned on the outside.
  • Yum Yum with some green chutney and sliced red onions – That's my personal choice 🙂

Tips

  • You can make kati rolls with this dry chicken the next day for kids’ lunch boxes. Spread green chutney on the parata, place some of the dry chicken in the middle, squeeze a bit of lime over it and roll it into kati rolls.
