Masala Chicken Burger
This masala chicken burger is a delightful fusion of East and West, with succulent grilled chicken and Indian spices. Easy to make, just mix, cook, and assemble with your favorite toppings. Add a spicy kick with Sriracha mayo and green chutney. Don't forget the French fries on the side for the full experience!
Ingredients
- 1 lb Minced Chicken
- 1 Red onion (medium) finely chopped
- 8 Garlic finely chopped
- 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
- 4 Green Chilies finely chopped
- 1 handful Coriander (Cilantro) finely chopped
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Dhania (Coriander Seeds) Powder
- 1 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds) Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt to taste
To Serve
- Burger Buns (sesame seeded are the best)
- Lettuce (of your choice)
- Red Onions cut in circles
- Tomatoes cut in circles
- Cheese Slices (pepperjack works well)
- Green chutney (optional – spread on the buns)
- Ketchup/Mayo/Hot and Sweet sauce
Instructions
Now, let's cook & assemble!
- Mix all the ingredients needed for the chicken patty in a bowl and refrigerate for half hour.
- Divide the mix into 8 portions. Make balls and flatten them like patties.
- Heat a tbsp of oil on an iron skillet, place the chicken patties on the hot pan. For nice juicy burgers, cook in medium flame for about 5 minutes and flip it over to cook for a further 5 minutes.
- When done, build your burger in the burger buns with lettuce, onion rings, tomato slice, chicken patty, cheese slice and any sauce you like. Enjoy with a side of French fries.
Tips
- After the chicken patty is cooked on one side, flip it over and keep a cheese slice on it so it melts on the patty
- Sauces like ketchup, mayo or hot and sweet sauce work well. Spice it up with some Sriracha Mayo. I usually do half mayo and half sriracha for a spicy creamy sauce. It’s totally according to your taste.
- You can spread spicy green chutney on the inside of the buns.
- Can add lightly sautéed crunchy cabbage, jalapeno and green pepper as a layer.
